Insulation Displacement Cables
An insulation displacement cable, also known as an insulation displacement contact is an electrical connector designed to be attached to the conductor of an insulated cable by an engagement process which forces a selectively sharpened blade (or blades) through insulation. This method bypasses the need to strip the conductors of insulation before connecting. When properly fabricated, the connector blade cold-welds to the conductor, making a reliable gas-tight connection.
