Aircraft-grade cable is composed of galvanized steel wire. Aircraft cable made from galvanized steel wire dipped in a zinc coating, provides incredible strength and flexibility for most applications. Galvanized steel wire is used in places where the components are exposed to oxidative chemicals like salt.

 

Aircraft-grade cable is also composed of stainless steel wire. Although stainless steel wire has a slightly higher cost than galvanized steel wire, stainless provides a greater ROI and maintains its strength qualities over time. It has high corrosion resistance due to the fact that it is treated with chromium, an element added to make stainless steel suitable for salty and moist environments.
